Meet the Maker 

Hi I'm Fiona,

I paint intuitively, gathering inspiration from the beauty and colours of Cornwall. I use mixed media, and many different tools, to make a wide variety of marks.

My paintings are created layer by layer, playing with colour and mark making, contrasting transparent glazes with textured opaque paint, wiping off and scratching back to reveal hidden treasures underneath. Something eventually appears that calls to be highlighted, the deeper meaning often only revealing itself once a painting is finished.

To me this process almost feels magical, just like Cornwall.
