Polgear Pottery is nestled in the Cornish Countryside, in a converted milking parlour, surrounded by flora and fauna.

The stoneware clay is sourced a short distance away in St Agnes, at Dobles. We try to ensure that we are sustainable and keep our carbon footprint as low as possible.

Networking with other Cornish Companies is extremely important to us. Just one example is using hand made local soaps to accompany our soap dishes.

Meet the Maker 

polgear pottery Martyn Henniker BAHons,

Martyn came to pottery late in life, although has had a strong connection to art and design throughout his career. His passion for pottery came from a chance meeting with a Master Potter, who recognised how natural he was and encouraged him to pursue this further and become a Cornish artist specialising on pottery.

Martyn takes his inspiration from the shapes, and colours of the Cornish countryside from the striking sunsets, to the ever changing coastline.
