Cornish Lavender grows several lavenders, on old mining land, harvesting by hand from mid July. We process using small batches, using a traditional copper distillation process on site to produce lavender essential oils and pillow mists spray.

The smallholding welcomes visitors, mid May to mid August with a summer tearoom, events and crafting workshops.  You can find out about our events and buy our products online and the summer tea room is now open every day (except Mondays) until 10 August 2025.

We are proud to grow organically, and to diversify our farming land, producing wonderfully scented, Cornish Lavender essential oils.

CORNISH LAVENDER Hi, I'm Tina Bessell

I joined the RAF as a pilot and intelligence officer from university, and then had a second career as a radio presenter on Pirate FM when our family returned to live in Cornwall. I still broadcast the Radio Newquay weekend breakfast shows.

During lockdown, I began organically growing lavender to make our very own Cornish Lavender essential oils and pillow mist sprays. Our smallholding is on the edge of old mining land between St Agnes and Perranporth, where we keep sheep, dogs, ducks and chickens, and the poor soil and stony ground luckily suits this Mediterranean herb which has so many therapeutic benefits! We grow several different varieties as they are all different!

We have created a place where people can meet, relax, learn, and connect with nature. The lavender field has such a relaxed sanctuary vibe. I also love sharing my knowledge with distillation experience days, crafting workshops which give others the opportunity to unwind and grow.
