St Pirans Day Cornwall

A Very Cornish Celebration

10th February 2023

Spreading a little joy with Cornish food, drink, and party essentials

Those with Cornish roots or strong ties to Cornwall will know the significance of St Piran’s Day, also known as The Feast of St Piran. This special day of celebration pays tribute to the Patron Saint of Cornwall, and grows year after year from its humble beginnings as a national holiday for Cornish tin miners who chose St Piran as their Patron Saint.

Falling in 3 weeks’ time on the 5th of March, we’ve found everything you need for a cheerful Cornish get-together! From flavoursome Cornish food and drink to fun decorations and proudly Cornish clothing – you’ll be the host(ess) with the most(est!)

Make it a party

String up some St Piran’s Flag Bunting from The Cornish Store to instantly create a festive atmosphere. Equally lovely indoors or out, bunting is the easiest way to decorate a space for a knees up and we think this Cornish version is just the ticket.

Greet them with a brew

Make it a Cornish cuppa with Tregothnan Tea’s Afternoon Tea – a Cornish-grown blend with a delicately refreshing taste.

These hand-plucked tea leaves are enveloped in biodegradable silken pouches and packaged in a smart tea caddy – a definite talking point when guests are gathering in the kitchen!

Pop a ‘tea by the sea’ Poppy Treffry – Seagull Tea Cosy on the teapot and keep the tea warm in the most Cornish way possible!

Handmade in Cornwall from duck egg blue brushed cotton and lined with traditional blue ticking, this padded tea cosy is hand finished with a cheeky applique seagull and freehand embroidery.

Another failsafe party bite is the classic hotdog, but with prime Cornish Pork Sausages from Primrose Herd they become next-level tasty!

Primrose Herd do things differently, rearing traditional breeds both slowly and naturally outdoors. This leads to an extremely high quality pork which is used to make their prize-winning sausages!
